A "return to work" certificate confirms that you are healthy and able to return to work after an illness or injury. An "unfit for work" medical certificate indicates that you are currently unable to work due to your medical condition and need time off to recover.
Yes, we can issue backdated medical certificates for work in certain circumstances. It is possible and acceptable for a practitioner to certify that an illness commenced prior to the date of assessment. The practitioner must determine when, in all likelihood, the illness did commence. Generally, certificates will not include an illness commencement date of more than 24-48hrs prior to the date of assessment. The date of issue will always be the same as the date of assessment and can never be dated earlier. To be eligible, you must have been unable to get a certificate at the time of your illness and must continue to be experiencing the same illness. It is important to provide as much information as possible to the doctor reviewing your request
